Epidemiologia molecular de microrganismos multi-resistentes envolvidos em infecções hospitalares e/ou presentes na comunidade.
Pharmacist Biochemistry, Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences and PhD in Biosciences applied to Pharmacy, all titles obtained by the University of São Paulo. During the MSc, she studied at the Department of Microbiology of the Biozentrum of Basel University (UNIBASEL) in Basel, Switzerland. During Ph.D., she completed an internship at Oklahoma University and Harvard Medical School, both in the United States. She holds a postdoctoral degree in the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology of the Institute of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil; Postdoctoral fellowship at Juntendo University in Tokyo, Japan and postdoctoral fellowship in the Microbiology Department of the Biological Sciences Institute of UFMG. She is currently a PhD Professor in Integral Dedication to Research and Research at the Physics Institute of São Carlos, University of São Paulo, where she is responsible for the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Molecular Microbiology (LEMiMo). She is also an AdHoc reviewer for several international magazines and FAPESP. She has experience in the area of Molecular Microbiology and his research line includes molecular epidemiological studies of bacterial pathogens, studies of mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobials and study of proteins involved in mechanisms of virulence and resistance to antibiotics. Since 2015 is President of the Internal Biosafety Commission (CIBio - IFSC / USP) and since 2016, has taken over the coordination of the Hospital Infection area of the Brazilian Society of Microbiology.
