Andrea de Camargo holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry (1996) and a Master's degree with emphasis in Inorganic Chemistry (1999) from the Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics (2003) from the University of São Paulo. She is currently Associate Professor at the Physics Institute of São Carlos, IFSC / USP. He has experience in: Materials Science and Physics with emphasis on Optical and Spectroscopic Properties of Condensed Matter. His area of ??work is the development and structural and functional characterization of optical and luminescent materials doped with metals of the fe / or d group, ie active media for lasers (glass, glass ceramics), and luminescent hybrid materials with meso and micro structure Pores, incorporated with metallic complexes and organic dyes, for applications in luminescent devices, bioassays, solar cells and sensors. Several spectroscopic optical and solid state magnetic resonance techniques are used to obtain structural / functional correlations to feed and optimize materials. She is an ad hoc advisor to CNPq, FAPESP, FUNDECT and CAPES and a reviewer of several indexed journals. In 2007 she was awarded the L'ORÉAL Award for Women in Science Brazil and was named an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (2008-2013). In 2016 he joined the Working Group on Gender Issues, linked to the Brazilian Society of Physics, SBF.
