The Group of Theoretical Physics of FCM is composed by actors in the fields of Quantum Field Theory, Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Optics, Quantum Computation and Information, Cosmology and Gravity Theories. In particular, the group has been dedicated to the investigation of phenomena such as phase transitions, solitons and non-perturbative aspects in field theories, integrable field theories, strongly correlated systems, disordered systems, electronic structure and transport properties in semiconductor nanostructures, effects Of many bodies in low dimensionality systems, nucleation theory, radiation-matter interaction, fundamentals of quantum mechanics, properties of cosmic strings, holographic principle, etc.

In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate students, the group counts on the constant participation of postdoctors and visitors from national and international institutions that promote an environment that stimulates teaching, research and extension.
