Resume:

He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2012. Since 2015 he has been a professor at the São Carlos Institute of Physics, University of São Paulo. His research primarily focuses on condensed matter physics, specializing in surface physics and the exploration of the electronic structure of wide-bandgap semiconductor materials. Using advanced techniques such as X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Ultraviolet Spectroscopy (UPS), and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) with synchrotron light. His investigations extend to nanostructured semiconductor materials and ultrathin films for green hydrogen generation via photo(electro)catalysis. Over the past five years, he has led numerous research projects, including those funded by FAPESP in categories targeting Young Researchers and Regular modalities. Presently, he oversees three research projects, one addressing Global Climate Change funded by FAPESP, another a Shell/FAPESP project at the RCGI-Research Center for Gas Innovation at USP/FAPESP, and a CNPq-funded project aimed at scaling photoelectrochemical devices for the development of a photoelectrolyzer. He maintains extensive international scientific collaborations with professors at the University of Surrey and the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, as well as the University of California, UC Davis, USA. He was a visiting professor at UC Davis from 2016 to 2017. With over 60 articles published in international journals and two patents registered with INPI related to the preparation of wide-bandgap semiconductor materials and the deposition of nanoparticles and metal single atoms through magnetron sputtering deposition method. He also organize a course on X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) at IFSC/USP to explore semiconductor material surfaces, and he delivers courses at other institutions such as IQ/USP, POLI/USP, and CETENE. He mentors undergraduate, master, doctoral, and post-doctoral students in Physics at IFSC/USP and Materials Engineering at the School of Engineering of São Carlos/USP.
