Resume: Associate Professor (Livre-Docente) at the São Carlos Institute of Physics (IFSC), University of São Paulo (USP). He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He carried out postdoctoral research at the Institute of Physics of UFRGS (2012) and at the Institute of Chemistry of USP (20122014). Since 2015, he has been a faculty member at IFSC-USP, and from 2016 to 2017 he was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) - USA. His research focuses on condensed matter physics, with emphasis on surfaces and interfaces, as well as wide band gap semiconductors. He works on the development and application of sputtering deposition methods for the synthesis of thin films, nanoparticles, and single-atom catalysts, targeting applications in photo(electro)catalysis for green hydrogen production. He investigates the electronic structure of semiconductor materials using advanced techniques such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) using synchrotron radiation. |
