Some older research lines: Dynamics of photocarriers in semiconductors, coherent control of spins in novel solid-state systems, spin-dependent quantum shot noise, spin-dependent physics in Mn-based systems, spin injection and spin dynamics in semiconductors, spin dependent phenomena magnetic semiconductors and many-body systems, quantum transport (Keldysh, Landauer-Buettiker), application of DFT in the context of the effective mass approximation (k.p) in semiconductors (quantum Hall ferromagnetism).

Prof. Egues received an undergraduate Physics degree (''Licenciatura Plena em Física'') from the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS,1986), a master's in Physic from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP/IFQSC/1990), a PhD in Physics from The Ohio State University (USA,1996) and a Habilitation from the University of Basel (Switzerland, 2003).
