Resume: Prof. Roberto Mendonça Faria has been a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo since 1999. He was director of the Institute of Physics of São Carlos at USP between 2002 and 2006, and coordinator of the Institute for Advanced Studies at USP, Polo de São Carlos (2010-2014). Today is Visiting Professor at UTFPR. He coordinated the Millennium Institute of Polymeric Materials (IMMP), from 2002 to 2006, and now is the coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology for Organic Electronics (INEO), which is composed by more than 40 research groups in Brazil. He coordinated the production of the book Science, Technology and Innovation for a Competitive Brazil, financed by CAPES, which gave rise to Emprapii (Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation). He was president of the Brazilian Materials Research Society (SBPMat), from 2012 to 2016. He was Chair of the international event "Spring Meeting of the European Material Research Society 2014", in Lille, France. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) and of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo (ACIESP). He has supervised more than 35 PhD theses and 20 master's dissertations, and has supervised more than 20 postdocs. He has published around 200 scientific papers in indexed journals. He is a researcher at CNPq with a 1A productivity grant. |
